Barbadillo At SherryFest 2013
From October 5-8, over 20 top sherry producers from Jerez, Spain descended on New York City for Sherryfest 2013. From individual store tastings to sherry Master Classes, Sherryfest 2013 brought together the world’s most iconic sherry brands to teach new and old fans alike about the art of sherry-making.
Steve Cook Barbadillo’s Export Director, joined César Saldaña of the Consejo Regulador de Jerez-Xeres-Sherry and Manzanilla de Sanlucar, Peter Liem and Rosemary Gray for a series of exceptional events and tastings. Mr. Cook led an expert panel at the Amontillado Master Class at the Astor Center on Monday, October 7, explaining the intricacies of sherry production and the artistry behind the creation of Barbadillo’s famed Amontillado sherry.
On Tuesday, October 8, Julio Baguer, Nicole Baguer and Mr. Cook joined a host of the world’s finest sherry producers for the SherryFest Grand Tasting at the Astor Center. Pouring Barbadillo’s extensive line of award winning sherries, New Age Imports educated and informed the over 700 attendees about Barbadillo’s indelible position within the top tier of sherry houses.
That evening, Barbadillo headlined an exclusive dinner at Manzanilla, NYC. Renowned Chef Dani Garcia designed an outstanding tasting menu, expertly paired with Barbadillo sherries by Rick Pitcher, Wine Director of Manzanilla. Barbadillo’s Manzanilla en Rama, Principe Amontillado and Obispo Gascon Palo Cortado were tasted alongside Chef Garcia’s masterful creations.
