89 Points
The 2009 Roble shows off the rich fruit of the 2009 vintage in Ribera del Duero. It was aged for 4 months in American oak and 3 months in bottle prior to release. Purple in color with a brooding bouquet, it offers up aromas of spice box, violets, mineral, and blackberry that set the stage for a remarkably rich (for a $10 wine), savory, nicely balanced offering. While it might evolve for a year or two (and merit an outstanding rating), there is no pressing reason to delay your gratification.
